footpegleg
Ok newbie I no, So took the forks of the bike noticed that one of them (left 1) was soft enough for me to press down no effort, However the other (right 1) was hard as nails Is this the norm?? Also the front brake disc has movement in it, seems that if you press the lever the caliper locks no probs but you can visually see the disc has bout 1/4" play Is this the norm?? steve_earle
Hi mate, This is the norm, The forks only have a spring on one side, makes them lighter. The disk will move as its a floating disk so is designed to have movement in it, This compensates if a caliper is out of like or the disk has a slight warp. This is basic explinations, no doubt some one will get their anaroak out and go into more detail LOL.
footpegleg
Ok thanks for that All felt normal just wasnt sure All seals on forks are fine and the bike can stop on the mark, never noticed any of these issues before Cheers for heads up
dombush
No need for more explanation, Steve has it. Damping in one fork leg, spring preload in the other. Floating disk compensates for a number of possible braking misalignments. Done
