laser1
You could Richen the needle as well. If the jetting is spot on now, richer will slow down the pickup a bit.
grant8
Think your just getting to old Alan, you would be better of on jocks dinosaur?
demmo
Tie a knot in the throttle cable so you can't rev it so much !
breagh
At least laser has a constructive suggestion, the rest of you wouldn't know a trials bike if it run you over. I would be reluctant to touch carb settings as it runs so nicely. I was hoping someone had retarded (Good word in this company)one, and how it went. No more replies from Jockland please. fatbastard
I'm not being funny but have you run it past Birkett's . He might have a solution for you I've phoned him on a couple of occasions and was really helpful.
godzilla
Birkett's set my bike up from new to be soft, they knocked the timing back. http://www.shercousa.com/pdfs/sherco_ignition_timing_guide.pdf
copemech
You on about a Rotax powered SAcorps? Yes, kick the timing back all the way!
breagh
Apologies,it's a 2011. I didn't make that clear.
demmo
If it's the auld sherco engine, pull the flywheel off, mark where the stator is, slacken the 3 bolts, then move the stator plate about 5mm, rebuild and try it out. It made a difference to my 04, 06, and 09 bikes.
copemech
Oh it's the Sherco motor then! Yep, Demmo is right. There should be a mark on the stator plate that aligns with the right edge of the casting web on top. I usually tell folks , a change(counter rotation to retard or slow) of 1-2mm(mild), 3-4mm(mid) or 5-6mm(most), so adjust accordingly. Seems a 1mm change is not really enough to tell.
ridgrunr
If you are wanting to slow it down a bit, you might put a slow turn throttle on it, that is if you have a fast one on there now. The white tubes are the fast one and the black are slow.
