twinshocktosser
It depends on what you are rating it on. The build quality is better than any Spanish trials bike new or old. Will take a huge amount of mechanical abuse. But its puney suspension and brakes make for an uncomfortable ride. The 125lc was a lot better and the 125r better still. Probably only produces 10 bhp. guy53
Here in Canada they where equiped with a starter ( from 1974 on I think ) and where heavy with a flat power band. I don't know anybody that modified one to improve it. Also agreed with twinshocktosser for there quality. Guy
johnwayne22
before restorationduringafter .I,ve just recently restored a 1980 yamaha dt175 mx. Same as the 125 except the barrel of course. This was the last dt before they went liquid cooled. Handled great, although a bit top heavy, plenty of acceleration & you could jump it , but if you tried the jumps the mx boys do today you would end up in casualty with an assortment of swingarm & suspension parts up your ass.
