digger 1
I'm currently restoring a 1979 Bultaco 175 221, where is the best place to buy the mudguards closest to the original blue - any other hints and tips with restoration would be welcome - a lot of work to do!! Thanks

pschrauber
For the blue mudgards in Germany it it's: Reimar Bürkmayer http://buerkmayer.de/kontakt.htm and/or Hans Jörg Pfahler http://www.bultaco.de/. May be you can go in detail depending the tips? Do you have and probably can show some pic's of your bike? BTW: I had a 175cc too, it was my first bike which I used for competititions back then, (from 1981 to 1982 when I remember right), I sadly sold the bike. I do search for a bike in good shape ... but this model is very rare in Germany.

digger 1
Hi PScrauber - I'm in South West Cornwall in the UK. No pics at present - everything in bits. Will post pics when I start rebuilding. Believe the 175 is quite rare in the UK akso.
woody
This is your model, although the frame is the wrong colour on this one it has the right mudguards fitted. There is only one blue and this is it http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/RARE-BULTACO-175-SHERPA-TWIN-SHOCK-TRIAL-1495-ONO-PX-BETA-BSA-TRIUMPH-/200880595933?pt=UK_Motorcycles&hash=item2ec56aa3dd They are readily available on ebay although as someone has already mentioned Bultaco UK (also trade under In Motion) will have all you need. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Trials-Plastic-Blue-Mudguards-Bultaco-Ossa-Montesa-Twinshock-Pre-65-/380547589499?pt=UK_Motorcycle_Parts&hash=item589a67657b
naichuff
The frame tank and side panels should all be blue as are the mudguardsThe engine hubs and lower forks were black I got mine new and still have it My bike is pretty standard Only the throttle front mud guard stays and one lever The frame is the wrong shade of blue Cases are now polished as are the fork bottoms Used it for three year then store it can now use it on VMCC as it is mot and taxed The 175 frames differ in the front down tube curves at the web at the lower yoke Edited January 19, 2013 by naichuff
woody
The frame is that used on the 250 models from 158 - 190. The 175 is essentially a sleeved down 238cc model 190 with the blue colour scheme. They were built primarily for the Spanish holiday resort hire market with big tank, dual seat etc. Some ended up over here in trials trim.
