lewis cosgrove
Hi there i have a Sherco 290 2009, i have got a full new sticker set (real ones) to put on in the summer months when its nice and warm to help them stick. However i think every thing will be fine except the tank as it has paint on it then the sticker on top, so will it not peel all the paint off when taking the old sticker off and waste the tank. There was an 09 tank on ebay that have the paint ripped off from removing a sticker. Is there any way to remove the sticker and keep the paint on? Thanks! rabie
we use a variety of stuff at work, including some real evil stuff (when its not on plastics) - i'ld try IPA (isopropyl alcohol) or maybe just rubbing petrol. other idea might be to remove tank form bike and keep it indoors in the warm - lots of glues, vinyls, etc get really brittle and firm below room temp. copemech
Hair drier and gentle persuasion works. Don't rip it off! If paint under the sticker has been broken from impact or someyhing, you cannot save it as it will lift with the sticker.
zippy
Go the lazy route and stick the new sticker over the old (if it is exactly the same) Trace the old sticker with hobby/craft knife and lift sticker and paint as one and the place new sticker in exact spot and nobody will see the missing paint. (again only if new is exactly the same as old) Or use one of the more sensible suggestions the other guys gave you
