Bent Rim Flanges

Ocassionally, riding as we do in the rocks etc. we come up with bent rim flanges. Dean has a pretty good one at the moment.

Straightening with a hammer always seems to work harden and crack them prior to them getting where you want them.

Straightening in the press is always a challenge to get it set up and held.

I have had fairly good luck pulling them back into shape with a 15" crescent.

I have also just left them alone and not had problems with them.

Anyone have experience's good or bad about leaving them alone and maybe the pro's and con's of that?
