yorick
Help ! I am stripping my 1987 TY250 and need a clutch holding tool so that I can undo the large clutch nut Does anybody have one that I could borrow ? Or do you know one from other bikes that will fit mine? There are plenty on Ebay for other bikes, so would be helpful to know which others will fit Many thanks in advance

paul w
if the engine is out, take the whole thing down to a car garage and get someone to spin it off with an air gun, no need for a tool. Or, i don't suppose you have tried a Yamaha dealer have you, from memory there were only 3 sizes on all yams that age anyway.

The inner bit of the clutch spins very freely and not sure if an air gun will do the trick
old trials fanatic
Try getting an old clutch plate and welding a stout piece of bar to it that should lock the centre so you can use an air gun on it to undo.
paul w
Just get hold of the centre with a bit of rag, undo every time, mind you i have no fingernails left!
