644thumper
My grandson and I am taking the clutch down on his Beta 80 and got as far as removing the plate and springs, needless to say the clutch is sticking solid We've read the sticky and it sounds exactly like Brit bikes of the 60's and 70's Simple question, is the central retaining bolt left or right hand thread? I don't want to strip the thread/snap bolt I've been after a new fuel filler cap, it seems parts for this year are hard to find, any reason? zerorev3rev4
you dont say what year it is ,iam pritty sure its right hand normal thread , if youve got the plates out why are you needing to go in further .an impact gun or even a hand held impact driver you hit with a hammer will help to undoe it
644thumper
Thanks zero ....I'd guessed it would be but always best to ask ....... I'll try an impact driver on it :icon_salut: It's a 2006 as the title says ..... we've got all the springs and blocking plate off but the plates won't come out .. It looks like the centre (#94 on parts diagram) has to be removed as all the plain steel plates fit into that, which means removing the bolt ..... is there another way? :dunce:
zerorev3rev4
not sure without seeing it usually if you remove the bolts and springs the pressure plate comes off then all the discs should come out ,,this sounds differnt

644thumper
Well we established it was Rt hand thread from direction of rotation The plates are all held in by the central bolt as per this photo Locking tool on its way and impact driver ready
