No Spark After Powder Coating

I've just had my 2011 pro frame powder coated and after putting it back together I don't have a spark,

I've cleaned around the engine mounts to make sure the engine had a good earth.

My question is ... Where the coil fastens to the frame do both mounts have to be clear to earth, or just the top or just the bottom?

Any one else had any similar problems?

Thanks in advance

Steve

Why don't you try checking continuity to ground averywhere you are supposed to

It all should have extremely low resistance to the engine cases

You can test to see if the coil has contact to the frame and if the engine has good contact with the frame etc

Your meter can answer a lot of questions

And don't forget to test the kill switch

Depending on how the coil is wired, you probably only need one of the tabs scraped to bare metal. WIth an ohm meter you should be able to figure out which one. But, why worry about it, scrape them both to be sure you have a good electrical ground (earth in UK).

I would think "yes' on that Easyste. Coil has to be grounded, might as well be REDUNDANT, as it is extremely important for it to be able "fire" the plug, you know... and will be sad/pain to trouble shoot when it isn't grounded perfectly good. IMHO. do just one if you want, I wouldn't, but that is just me...
