gwd
Hi all, just got my first trials bike a few weeks ago, 2011 sherco 290, prob not the best choice for a 1st trials but was out last weekend and got on ok, don't get me wrong,I was only just getting a feel for the bike and didn't try anything to adventurous. had a great day even though it was snowing, raining, windy and I had to keep going back to the van to thaw out my fingers, any tips on bike setup/upgrades to help me along would be greatly appreciated. cheers
toxiic_pompey
Welcome! Obviously the cold weather is against you on this one. I suggest going out and buying some Neoprene gloves or get a Heated grips set. They are bound to help! Also sounds like a nice bike! I'm stuck on an 05 Gas Gas for now
breagh
Hello there,if you ever fancy a visit to Fife look us up. Run trials monthly and practices to suit beginners and fun riders. You'll get all the advice you need. Had a trial last week and a trial/training day today. Just come along and ride no pack drill. Find a nice woody bit to play if it's miserable, don't trail ride, just do sections soon gets a heat up. Have fun.
2stroke4stroke
The best tip I can offer, all else being equal and once you've found your feet so to speak, is that you actually put section markers down when you are practising or you'll be too generous to yourself on the awkward bits
sh3rc0
Hi gwd, We have a practice facility (Bob MacGregor Trials Academy) just outside Glasgow! There's coaching on every Saturday to suit most levels of riding, a cafe, and full toilet facilities. Best bet if youre interested is to come along on a Saturday (with your bike!) and have a look. We have a Facebook page www.facebook.com/BobMacGregorTrialsAcademy/ and a website www.trialsacademy.co.uk/ Cheers
gwd
Hi, thanks for all the reply's, I had heard of the wobblers and thought that would be a great start for my first trial, some more time on the bike and I will look into it. I should have said in my 1st post that that I joined the bob Macgregor trials academy, that's where I spent my first day on the bike, superb place with friendly and helpful people, I hope to try the Saturday training as soon as I can. cheers
