annmariec
hey, Gents! AnnMarie from the States here. The soft puffy decals are peeling up on our '00 GG TXT 280. Can you suggest what glue to use to re-secure? Also, the replacement decal for my GG 80cc doesn't want to stay even with the supplied adhesive. Can I use the same as what you suggest above to resecure hers? Thanks!!
copemech
Ann, are you referring to those type decals that have a thick rubbery clear substance over them? Not really sure it is possible to save them, usually replaced! However, you may attempt to use a rubber cement, or clear contact adhesive (sold in hardware stores) , paint on bothsides, let dry off, then once stuck, it does stick good!, then clean off excess with solvent once dry. Good Luck!
thats_a_five
A couple thoughts but no specific recommendation. 1) Be sure the surfaces are super clean before trying to glue. Any oil, particularly silicone oil, will keep most glues from sticking. 2) Most flexible adhesives do not stand up well to gasoline. Perhaps a gasket glue designed for motor assembly gaskets. 3) Try your local auto body shop or detail shop. They have some specialized knowledge and materials that might be the answer. Let us know if you find something good.
