bambam_n_chunx
Been out on the bike all weekend, going to give it a service and clean the carb out just wondered before I strip it down if any body has the original factory settings for a 2011 290 carb. The mixture screw is 4 1/2 turns out which seems a bit much to me.
bishyfishy
Try this link for the manual http://www.sherco.com/manuals.html and it shows the following settings i.e.mixture screw 3.5 turns out from fully in-then adjust the idle (this would be a starting/base point, I find 3 turns out with 34 pilot jet and needle clip on 4th from top) 290cc 272 76x60 0,0270mm-0,0325mm 1,1 mk/g 98 oct NGK BP5ES / DENSO W16EP-U Dell’Orto VHST 28 60 128 33 D36 2ond + 1 clip 0,5 3,5 20mm 3,3 430cc 450cc SAE 10w40 Multidisco Digital 2,6 l. bambam_n_chunx
Thanks for the info, mines running a 35 pilot and 125 main, seems smooth enough.
copemech
Splatshop Chris did a blog on the PHBH setup yet I cannot find it now, might call or email him. Yet it seems to me that on a typical dellorto, after around 3.5 turns out makes no difference as the needle end of the screw is out of range of adjustment as it is short. Might as well screw it back in. My bike runs a larger pilot to keep the screw within working range of operation on the PHBL, yet there is a narrow range of happiness here as compared to many who just throw in say a 35 and run the screw wide open.
