rathbone89
Hi all, Please help - I have a 99 techno which is misfiring when under load (mid to high revs). It starts first / second kick every time and runs well in the low revs but as soon as I try to power up an obstacle / hill it starts misfiring. Would anybody happen to have a wiring diagram and some suggestions on where to start with this? I believe the issue is with the 2 black nodes on the stator but I could be totally wrong... Your help is appreciated!

rathbone89
Cheers for the reply were running it on the same set up as the other technos in our group - 5 of us! It's definitely electrical, the hotter it gets the louder it back fires...

chuckindenver
sounds like a regulator issue..common with the model.
rathbone89
Is there any way of testing the regulator? I've tested the stator and it seems to be fine, reading around 480 ohms so regulator will be next
trumpy
Would have thought easiest just to swap it with one on your mates bikes
pindie
It's nothing like a plug or cap breaking down is it? Could be a cheap fix?
rathbone89
Thanks for the comments all, we've changed the plug over etc, didn't think to change the plug cap / try a mates regulator though so will do that next time... Hopefully it will be running properly by summer! fingers crossed for a nice cheap easy fix...
