anotherfive
Going to do all the linkage bearings soon and am ok with this but can anyone run through what i need to remove on a 2012 racing after I have taken the rear wheel out ie; what about the brake line/swinging arm, airbox etc. It would be helpful if you told me the order of dismantling. Thanks ( spanner at the ready !!!)
jandyb
You just need to remove airbox and rear wheel. Then remove upper shock bolt. Then lower shock bolt and its all yours.. :-) -Jan
zippy
If you plan to remove the swing arm don't forget to loosen the pinch bolts where the swing arm axle passes through the motor. All in all a pretty straight forward job. I just did mine (2003) recently. Also some riders "flip around" the "triangle" piece under there so that the bolt that threads into it will rotate to tighten on the down stroke of the suspension. Some have had this bolt loosen periodically and it hits frame, etc. when it works its way out. The "triangle" is "reversable" so to speak. (man that last paragraph is about as clear as mud )
mr neutron
Be certain you do a "SEARCH" here for an older thread from a year or two ago about "Linkage Bearings", or something along those lines. I'm at work now, and don't have a bunch of time for a long reply. But one of those threads had a number for a very good bearing that has the seals "built in" to the ends. It should work out much, much better than the stock separate seal/bearing setup. That thrread explains it better than I can right now..... Been trying to get those in Norway without luck. Original bearings is HN1516 -Jan
