toofasttim
French rider, early to mid eighties. Touted as the next French world champ. Had a stupid parking lot accident and wasn't wearing a helmet. Was mildly brain damaged and lost his sense of balance and that ended his career? toofasttim
Rosey was on the money. When I said Maya had lost his sense of balance as a result of the accident it wasn't that he was lurching around like a drunken sailor it was that he couldn't compete at the highest level. At that level the slightest disadvantage can sabotage your riding. Look at John Lamkpin. When his leg was broken he lost a year at world level and was never the same. pindie
It don't take much to knock the top of their perch through injury. They ride at such a high level even minor things are a big deal. I still think they would whup my ass even if they only had one arm and one leg though.
