danp83
Hi, I've just joined today and thought I better introduce myself. I'm Dan from near Peterborough, Lincolnshire, I want to get into trails, I've had a Suzuki Beamish 250/RL 250 about 8 years ago but never was part of a club or took part in events. I've got a few questions about starting out, what would be recommended for a beginner, places to practice in the area, Local clubs etc Where would be best to ask my questions? Thanks all, Dan
martyn190
Hi Dan, Sorry for only just replying to your post we run the Peterborough Trials club our dates can be found on our website http://www.spanglefish.com/peterboroughtrialsclub/ Unfortunately I cant really help you with places to practice I think this website might be the best resource for finding legal places to practice. Before you can ride in a trial you will need to apply for an ACU licence which can be done online and if you email us we can sort you a code so you can do it on the ACU website. Anything else just ask and we will try our best to help you. Martyn Rushbrook
danp83
Thanks for the reply Martyn, That's great news, I didn't know you ran a trails club at Stibbington, that's perfect for me. I was expecting to have to travel quite a way. I'll start a topic in places to ride regarding practicing, what does everyone else do? I just need to get myself a bike, any suggestions? Thanks again, Dan
martyn190
To be honest i havent practiced in years so i cant tell you there is nearly enough trials on to ride every week without having to travel too far but i understand you want to get a feel for it. As for bikes it depends on budget ive always found personally that betas are well made and are a little softer than the others in 200 or 250 form but in all fairness there is not a lot in it.
