monty348
Ok, It's my first Fantic. I have it home and need to learn about the bike. The only English language manual I've found is for a 305 and a parts manual in Italian for a 307. Can I use the 305 info for setting timing? "3mm on the piston" Can this be correct? grib
I have got an Italian handbook for a 307 and the timing is 3mm btdc for that too. There will be timing marks that you can check with a strobe on the flyweel just to make sure.
monty348
Thanks for the confirmation. I'm accustomed to static timing of 1.6 - 1.8mm and 3mm seemed too much. Had the bike out for a test on Saturday. Jetting seemed a bit lean at part throttle. Was a #35 pilot and specs. call for #40 so changed it and will need to test again. So far this bike is fun! Comparing it to my TR-34 it feels a bit larger.
