deputy dawg
Am in the process of stripping my bantam engine, would like to know if swapping the 2nd and 3rd is adequat or is it better to change 2nd for a close ratio gear?many thanks
smelling123
I swapped mine and it is a good improvement (and free). Personally I wouldn't be able to justify spending any money on a new 2nd gear set - although a high 4th might be nice. I run a small flywheel (electrex ignition) and that helped - it used to stall a little bit too easily in 2nd before. Here's how you do it...http://www.flickr.com/photos/76022002@N08/8583960396/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/76022002@N08/8582856835/in/photostream/
deputy dawg
thank you for posting. i was just wondering if the 2nd gear set was a huge improvement over swapping 2nd and 3rd as now would be the time to do it, or if it was just a unessasary expense. pat
Hi all, Little about Bantam final gearing : -which size, teeth of rear sprocket do you think is the best combo with the smallest engine- and gearbox sprockets from Rex, riding 1st gear in Pre-65 sections? 56t--60t? My weight is ~65kg. Edited July 24, 2013 by pat
