ironbelly
This is 17 years ago, unreal, look at 3:11 all on the back wheel, a man before his time, I would have loved to see him ride in world rounds, looks like he could have wiped the floor, there must have been a lot more money in his shows than he could have ever earned riding trials. eddie_lejeune
did he ride many trials?
0007
I don't think that is really a measure of skills anyway, it's just a different genre to display a specialty Danny Mac is another example of a guy who is amazing at his art but not particularly successful at observed trials, It's great to watch your vids Jason and its interesting to hear your stories Got any tips on methods of practicing low speed balance, particularly riding arrow straight Is there any off bike practice that helps? gilbo
Jase has ridden many trials. British Championship and International Indoors included. Which is where he realised the glitz, glamour, showboating and money was far more attractive than getting muddy in front of one man and his dog! For this I think he should be applauded, and I'm not just saying this as one of his best mates, but as a 100% trials fanatic. Because he took riding a trials bike to the masses and made it cool. Many thought of it as old men in Barbours and Wellys riding through streams. You can walk through any Motorsport paddock, be it trials, motorcross, superbike, touring cars even F1 and you can bet your bottom dollar most will have heard of, or seen Finny. Not something that can be said of many other trials riders. John Lampkin and John Shirt Snr both asked me to convince Jase in about '93/'94 to have a crack at the World Rounds as, in their words, "his talent is wasted and he's a potential world champion" His reply, "If I can earn more doing what I love now, what's the point?"
