charlie chitlins
A neighbor asked me to fix his kid's Yamaha PW50. It takes about a million kicks to start it...but then it seems to run OK. I checked compression (after all of the the usual suspects), and it seems quite low at 60psi. If this were a full-sized bike, I'd do the top end immediately, but I don't know if this an acceptable range for a 50. Thanks.
kevin j
PW I had (1985 or so model, had in the late 90's) had a 'start/run switch that changed the timing so it would not start in run position, but not rev up in start position. Prevent kids starting with WOT. I have scanned service info and manuals. PM for and I can send you a file if the years match. I also changed the rear gearing to ring and pinion from a QT scooter and got about 15-20% less speed and more torque for off road use. kcj
charlie chitlins
I wondered what that start/run switch could possibly do! Sending PM.... Thanks
