Change Of Start Order, Victory Trial

I read with interest the the ACU are to blame for insisting that the organisers have been asked to change the published start order for this event.

The rules are perfectly clear in the book. That is straight forward enough but when you take into account that the ACU Trials and Enduro Committee introduced this rule at the request of these same organisers then it defies logic that they can blame anyone but themselves.

It's a pity when a group of riders of mixed ability (Hence ride different classes) enter a trial together, then travel many miles acroos the country to ride the trial after getting up at silly o'clock have the day extended even more by starting at mixed times.

It also makes it very hard for support such as fuel when a club has no fuel trailer as in some trials riders can end up 2 hours apart!

Don't see any reason or benefit why classes should be grouped together.

Another nail in the road trial coffin!

Rubbish. It is a competition therefore you should have a level playing field for each class.

If riding with your friends is more important than the result then wait till you are a group then ride?

Always found that people that ride in groups cause delays and hold ups anyway.

its a bigger picture here surely?

Do most riders travel in mixed ability groups from all corners of the country and travel on the same day but have to be away quicker than everyone else? How does that work?

Four of us travel together and there's usually two on each route.....interest that you mention it's a competition....perhaps it's time the acu stepped up and made the 50/50 route a championship to progress riders....at S3 rounds normally around 50% of riders are on the lower course! Make it a championship with the top 5 each year moving up...that way it's a completion for everyone. Not just making up the numbers

it takes longer but its more fun to ride as a group

you always get some riders who manage to complete the trial (say 2x20 or 4x10) before others have even completed one lap (esepcailly if its easier novice route by skilled riders versus hard section for experts)
