burnleytazz
hi all been reading this forum for few weeks now and its my turn for some help ive recently bought a gas gas txt pro 2002 and it keeps overheating and blowing from inline thermo switch. never noticed when i bought the bike the fan only comes on when you rev the engine doesnt kick in when hot so started reading this forum for clues and noticed my bike does not have a rectifier on it(hows this possible) and previous owner must of bodged it up i'll add some pics soon of my wiring. But the two wires that come out of the thermo switch blue and yellow. only one is connected and thats the yellow one and that goes to the regulator. please help im hoping all i'll need is a rectifier
richt
I think this is the wiring diag for your model and it shows both rectifier and regulator. hope this helps. http://www.trialspartsusa.com/diagrams/Kok2002Pro.jpg

copemech
Fan is not supposed to come on instantly. Likely shorted thermo switch unless you have wired direct.
richt
Kickstarts are a rip off. Try find one on ebay but they are rare second hand.

thats_a_five
Its better to have the fan on all the time rather than to not come on at all. If you are going to ride before it is completely fixed, wire it on the "On" position.
