I bet there's a lot of gear that's been grown out of but is still in good shape. My kid is wearing MX boots, as he needs a new pair every year. No way could I buy him new trials boots at that rate. All of my kids outgrown gear has been given to other folks in the clubs I'm in , that have children that are truly into trials ... And now that they're both big enough to get my hand me downs when I break down and buy new gear ... But now they keep eyeballing my bikes too !!!! (and that ain't gonna happen !!!) I'd buy them newer bikes before I let them try to kill one of my Fantics !!! Grumpy old man ...
