fourstrokegeorge
Hi guys, ive been of a bike for a few years and last week got myself a beta evo 250 4t its a loverly bike and so smooth! anyway the point is i took it out for a ride today, over the beach, and was riding up alot of rocks the sea wall blah blah blah, and the suspension i feel is to soft for me, im 6ft and weigh 15 stone, even when i rode of a 3 and a half 3 drop the bike bottomed out, is this ok or does it need to be stiffer? as i don't want to put any unessesary wear on the bike, the beta manual is pretty awful it was just saying about click on the front fork ajusters, could any one help with how to ajust in ley-mans terms? and also i dont have a clue what to do with the rear shock? if anyone knows how to ajust them it would be great, and also maybe tyre pressaure for me weight? ive added a picture so you can see how much the bike bottomed out, and if its normal? cheers guys! outlaw dave
Steve Saunders can supply heavier springs for your Beta at a reasonable price.
dadof2
15 stone and you will probably need a heavier rear spring. probably increase the fork oil depth by 15 to 20 mm. IE reduce the distance of the fork oil from the top of the fork
0007
And to answer your question, yes I think a 1 meter drop will bottom the suspension regardless They don't have the travel of an MX bike and what little travel they do have needs to be supple for small bump compliance I put the stiffer springs into my Evo and it still bottoms but its got a great deal less teeter totter effect while using the front brake in a section, that used to really mess my balance up
