shyted
Here they come with another excuse . It looks like nothing from the onset until you sit back and think . Just done a trial in the south lake district . On speaking to the club secretary he told me they have just lost part of their land under the ruse of SSSI ( site of special scientific interest ) , land that has had cow sheet spread over it by the same farmer for 40years . Think the clubs been on there since 1927 under one name or another and walkers have been going there for donkeys years , you get the picture don't you . The rocks are seen throughout this area and look like they've been shoved up from the seabed.Quite spectacular really. The weather has had it's effect over centuries doing what it does naturally , and then suddenly up pops English nature and says "you can't touch them anymore " That's another bit of our (and others ) interest being made smaller and smaller . Wonder how long it will be before we have to pay a tax to save the environment we ride on ? You see whats going on don't you i hope ? These people just appear from the corridors of politics and cast their web of lie's over us .Constantly eroding our choice and forcing ideals on us . Carbon foot print my hairy bum cheeks , they've set more H bombs off since 1945 to destroy anything and then have the ball's to blame people like you and me for damaging the ozone layer and invent a tax for it . Great trial and here's just a couple of pics .
0007
Well my friend, over here we have lots of high altitude snowmobiling, no one ever goes these place until winter as they are pretty much innacessable any other time, motorized vehicles are illegal in many places due to the sensitivity of the land (short growing season) and I respect that Lots of Sierra club, Rocky mountain corridor foundation etc etc etc bull**** tree hugger groups with lots of member and lots of money want absolutely no one in these places ever ever So they use Caribou as the bullet, they winter in alpine terrain in deep snow believe it or not Many places have been closed completely and many many more are dealing with endless politics on the subject, nothing is ever final, a new minister every few years and it all just starts over again I don't think it has anything to do with the excuse they use, it's just the one that works and it's very frustrating
baldilocks
Yes while the stop no stop debate goes on and on and on british riders still have no basis to challenge or request review of SSSI status. When we have no land we will wonder why the rules seemed so important.
shyted
Wow great response from you two guys . I was raised in the countryside of England and i am very in touch with nature . My aunt was a country lass through and through and taught me how to fend for myself and family living from whats at hand . We lived in green belt land in a little place called Daisy Hill , one road ,one shop , one horse . The very people that are now saying that's SSSI sold that land and allowed a massive housing estate to be built there. That's despite it being green belt land . I too can appreciate the environment and consider things before i act much like you said 0007 . But ole baldilocks has hit the nail on the head . Were to interested in squabbling over the scraps when there's a real meal to be had ! I'm so glad to know you feel the same as this constant discrimination would carry no weight elsewhere ,but as we are a fringe element ,we get a fook off tablet forced down our neck by the paper shufflers . ted . kramit
Wonder how many golf courses are closed by SSSI' s ? After visiting Yosemite Valley here in California, the thing that really struck me was the fact there is a Golf Course there. While approaching the course on the highway, a road sign warns delivery trucks to not use their engine brake as to (I guess) not disturb the players. shyted
Back to the golf subject . My wife used to work at royal Lytham golf club a few years ago . She had an altercation with a German pollititon . She caught him behind the bar stealing spirits and he told her " Gur Ficken " (dont know the spelling) but basically fook off . She got her gaffer out of his bed ( Residential club) he had a chat with them and nothing was done except they warned her to be more careful who she was accusing of what . Speaks volumes to me that . Magistrates , former pop stars and all the social elite booze it up after a round then drive home at tea time . Never ever has one of them been pulled and the funny thing is ,there are top cop's there as well . Must add there were some real gents there as well . There seem's to be something afoot , maybe not,but some strange thing's seem to be going on of late or has not living in the uk for all my life made me see thing's different .Seems to be like a big butty , Upper crust crapping on us from the top and all the dros p****** on us from the bottom .Were the filling that gives sustenance to them all . I don't live in the past and haven't forgot my youth .Please any comments. Oh yes does any one remember Fanny hill ? Have you been there ? I pulled out of Daisy hill years ago ! dadof2
Brownrigg fell near Nord View used to host motocross with well over 100 bikes and trials with similar number. Now no MX and restricted to occasional trial limited to 40 bikes due to SSSI status. I urge ALL forum members to write to their MP and the minister for the environment urging them to stop the extension of the national parks. it is Natural England who are behind this proposed expansion and it is they who designate areas SSSI natural England are a quango, as are the national park authorities and in these austere times they should have funding withdrawn and be reprimanded for embarking on costly anti democratic ventures. rabie
SSSI and national parks have been about for a long time (national parks since the late 1940s). Planning law in England and Wales allows us to run trials on land *without planning permission* for 14/28days a year (the General Permitted Development Order - GPDO) ~ this has been about since the late 1940s. There is an exception to the GPDO is for national parks and SSSI, ie we need to apply for planning permission to run events on land inside national parks and SSSI. just like the MSA saga for road trials (again an old - 1960s - law) we are still being caught out on old laws we have never got our heads around/chose to ignore until we've been caught. now of course some SSSI down here on MOD land are just for nesting birds so the land is avaliable outside the nesting season, so without looking up what the SSSI is for i wouldn't judge it yet.
