bambam_n_chunx
Im on restoring a fantic pro twinshock that has the number 76 scratched into a blob of black paint on the headstock. My guess is its an ex ssdt bike but only a 125cc. Im interested in its history as i`d really like to re register it and put it back on the road. Also its fitted with a non standard exhaust which I believe is a polini that goes up the left side of the engine and looks the same as a beta tr34. Any info on the bike, rider or number would be a big help in tracing the reg. Thanks for looking.
axulsuv
A 125 Pro is rare enough ! but one with a possible competition pedigree ... TOO COOL !!! Let us know what you find out Glenn
b40rt
If it's done the SSDT it is already registered. Contact DVLA and make an appointment for them to inspect it. They will check engine and frame numbers. Assuming original engine and original regiztration number is still available they can reissued it. £25 about 3 years ago. The reg document will also show previous keepers.
totalshell
they will only re issue if it has been taxed since 1983. you ll have to demonstrate what the frame and engine numbers are and what the reg no. was. it ll cost 25 quid. before applying you can check what its 'status' is via the dvla website
furse
Can you post a pic of the exhaust? Are you sure it hasnt got a 156 barrell on it?
woody
You also have to know what the registration number is, as, even if they have it on their database post-'83, they won't tell you what it is from the chassis number. If you can't find the reg number yourself, you'll have to apply to re-register it which you can do on an age related plate at least.

Not true in my experience, maybe DVLA up here are more helpfull up here. My post was all from personal experience, not second-hand/hearsay. totalshell
dvla is changing on a BIG way. by the end of the year there will no longer be the opportunity to register a vehicle locally. virtually all local dvla offices are closing and already those that are still open are simply referring thier workload to swansea. in manchester they will no longer issue a v5 on the same day as reciept of an application. there is currently no process for claiming the v5 for a vehicle using just the engine or frame number..
