asc
hi,how much stiffer is the shock from falcon ,do you think a spring which is a bit heavier would do the job?building a evo 4t at the minute.
p@ul250
Hi asc, The Falcon shock is for the sidecar wheel and is great! In the rear of the bike is the standard shock fitted with a heavier rate spring. These can got from http://www.jamsport.co.uk, http://www.sxsuk.com or http://www.trialsuk.co.uk were I got mine from. and most of the other main trials dealers in the UK for around £55.00 or so. Bear in mind that my outfit is fitted with a foot peg on the swing arm for the passengers right foot. So more than half their weight is going straight to the wheel and not through the rear suspension. If you are using a "floating deck" setup, the passengers weight will pass through the rear shock. So you will need a much heavier (Sidecar specific) rate spring. Ian at JAM sport is the best man I know to talk to about this. Up front I am using the standard fork springs, but have gone for 300 ml of 10 weight oil in each leg and set the damper screw to about half way in. Hope this helps and if you have any more questions, I would be happy to help if I can! Paul Edited November 1, 2013 by p@ul250

rossy_
Just found the article, great job by the way.I am considering the same combo myself, already have the Rushton chair all painted and refurbished.Have you upgraded the rear shock or front fork springs in any way. Just worked out that your article went to two pages so no need to answer really. Cheers anyway and enjoy it. p@ul250
Just a quick up date, I have now fitted an even stronger spring to the rear shock of our outfit. At a trial last weekend the rear just sagged more and more as the day progressed. Although free mince pie's were on offer and may of been a factor
p@ul250
Been awhile since I posted on here. But just to update I switched my chair onto a 2014 Beta Evo 300 last year. I have also put together two more outfits this year. Both for customers and both on 2015 Beta Evo 300s If you're looking for someone to put one together for you. Just ask!
