nicbrrghs
Hi my son is looking for a new ish bike 2012-onwards. He's been riding a ty175 and is very proficient on that and also on my rev3 270. Im looking for advice on size and make if possible, he obviously goes for looks but i would rather him have a bike that is reliable and good to ride. There is no intention to ride on the road so I was thinking 125-200. He's looking at purchase on HP via me of course. All ideas welcome. THANKS!!!!!!!!!! nicbrrghs
Hes quite light, and would like a new sherco, just digging around for ideas as he thinks looks are more important than performance as most lads do.
shyted
Ha ha ha and that don't just apply to bike's as we all know . Personally i don't think you can go wrong with any of the bikes at that model year . I think you can get good bargains on a brand new ,very slightly used GasGas from Sandifords just now and i take notice of what lad's are riding the most of with Sherco and Montesa being in the minority . Not saying that's bad or Sherco are a bad bike . If he like's the Sherco and he's sure let him go with his gut , myself GasGas .
nigel dabster
If its a Sherco try AG Bikes on 01748 886356 they have some 125's I'm sure .
tltel
How old is your son? Do you plan on riding trial competitions. If he is under 16 he will be restricted to a 125. For ACU events anyway. I think it might be 250 for twinshock. TLTEL
charlie chitlins
I'm starting to think that a 200 is the perfect bike for us mortals. The big guys may need the big motors for the big stuff, but we probably don't. I had an '03 200 Pro that was TOTALLY amazing...but only when it ran. I recently rode an as-new '01 Sherco 200 that was BRILLIANT, and I hear that the Beta 200 is, as well. For me, the 200 gives smoother power delivery without the big hit. Much better in the tight stuff and slippy stuff. I can do full lock turns all day on the 200 Sherco, but not so on my 2.9.
