jacks22
Bike : 08 290 Sherco Recent work to bike : Piston/barrel cleaned, new rings, new small end bearing squish set to 1.2mm - This removed the very small rattle at idle. New clutch basket / rubbers - This removed the clutch rattle New crank seals Dellorto PHBL 26 - 36 pilot 118 main 3.5 turns on fuel/air screw / stock everything else Ever time i start to bike up from cold there is a slight rattly noise from the top end after the bike has been rev'd, it happens just as it returns to idle. After a couple minutes it goes away as the bike heats up. Am just a bit worried as I would have thought this to be lean pinking/pinging but it shouldn't be lean as its on a 36 at 3.5. Not sure what octane the fuel is though ( fuelsave petrol / 62.5 ml of oil with 5L) Couldn't find any air leaks either... Or is it just the tolerances that make it rattle a bit, then as it heats up the tolerances become smaller?
