Clutch Slipping 245

Hi Fantic fans the world over.

I have just replaced the clutch lever assembly on my cherished 245 with an expensive but quality domino unit. Have also fitted a new Venhill clutch cable.

The action now feels very nice and smooth. Very good disengagement, no drag but unfortunately the clutch now slips when in higher gears (3rd onwards) under load.

The cable adjuster at the assembly end is screwed right in.

What is my best option now - new plates, or is there something else simple?

Thanks for any advice

dave

Sounds like you need to adjust the clearance at the pushrod: Unscrew the cap from the middle of the clutch cover, loosen the locknut on the adjusting screw and then back the screw out so it is about a quarter of a turn out from touching the end of the pushrod. Tighten the lock nut & screw the cap back in.
