sherco34
Hi all, what is the best 2 stroke oil to petrol ratio for a sherco 125 2012? Thanks.
dombush
Sherco 34 a much discussed topic!! I personally use 75:1 also on a Sherco 125. You will find people running as much as 40:1 and as little as 100:1 Opinion warning!! That 100:1 with a high quality synthetic oil is probably ok but i dont want to risk it.... 40:1 - 60:1 creates decreasing amounts of spooge (exhaust dribble) risking clogging the silencer wadding. 75:1 seemed to keep the wadding clear and didnt choke the engine even with prolonged low rev running. Engine dissasembly also showed good distribution of oil in key areas (piston skirt, big end, mains etc) So, with no negative effects at 75:1 i figured that saving some pennies on oil by pushing it further wasnt worth risking. maxbikes
so if I have 5 lt petrol in can how many cc of oil is that?
charlie chitlins
I live with the slightly-cumbersome American system of gallons and ounces. 1.5 oz/gallon (128 oz.) gets me 85:1. That seems to be working well in my 2.9 and the lad's 1.25. 75:1 would be fine, I'm sure. I have, in the past, run as fat as 64:1 without plug fouling or too much exhaust clogging. You have to check your plugs and pay close attention to power delivery. A rich oil/fuel mix carries less fuel into the cylinder so the fuel/air mix goes lean. There's a lot of knowledge/opinion about plug fouling, exhaust clogging, lubrication, etc. but little talk of the effects of more or less oil in the mix resulting in more or less fuel reaching the cylinder per burn. tony27
so if I have 5 lt petrol in can how many cc of oil is that? Roughly 67cc, go either 65 or 70 whichever is easiest for you to measure
