bultokid2005
Looking at picking up a trials bike for some fun and value any input I can get. I can get either a '97 Beta Techno 250 or '99 Scorpa Easy 250 both in very good shape for around USD$1100. Tried a couple of vintage competitions on a TY350 and Bul Sherpa 350 and quite frankly I am just plain awful at trials but it was a lot of fun. Was told it's somewhat easier to learn on a more modern bike and would enjoy it more. 50yr old mx'er into vintage mx these days, thanks to all. zerorev3rev4
they are both very good robust bikes question might be is which can you get parts for easiest
pete_scorpa3
They are both good bikes, I've never ridden the earlier Scorpa but had a number of Techno's back inthe 90's and they never let me down. As mentioned above, parts supply is important. Beta sold far more bikes than Scorpa. One other tip is to make sure you buy by condition. A rough but cheap trials bike can end up costing you more than buying a good one inthe first place. For example, worn suspension bushes/bearings/seals might be overlooked as inexpensive items, but mulitply the cost by ten sets and it soon adds up. mattylad
The scorpa is a very much underatted bike and the spares situation for the engine is very good.
eddie_lejeune
buy the beta - the scorpa is a tank compared to it
