4ourtea
Fantastic to see GJ and DL at top of leader board in the Portugese Larage Extreme Enduro. When one thinks back to the epic battles that went on between them when they rode trials together, it certainly stirs up some "rivalry memories". Sadly for Graham, in those days Dougie was supreme... I guess it makes it all the sweeter for Graham that he is now the undisputed Extreme Enduro specialist and wins nearly every time he enters such events, and whoops DL comfortably. Okay, Dougie was "close" (according to his press release), but a 4 minutes time difference is, frankly, a thrashing at this level of the sport. Close is really being within a minute or 45 seconds... Well done to both for showing that trials riders are the most technically gifted off-roaders...
dab-man
Its great to see the two brits top of the pile. Shame Graham is not riding the scott tomorrow as think he would start as one of the favorites, and would love to see him back at the SSDT. wobbler
Agreed they are both Legends - But Don't forget about Jonny Walker who was a very good trials rider before making the move to Enduro / Extreme Enduro - And with a couple of good wins under his belt is certainly in the mix. Although it's not trials related it's nice to see how riders you've met and ridden against / alongside are doing.... I only wish I was good enough to give it a go !!!!!! tony27
You'll find most of the top guys riding extreme enduro are former trials riders, Taddy had a world ranking from memory, Chris Birch & Rory Mead from NZ both got to the second highest level of trials as teenagers before taking up enduros. It would probably be hard to find any of the top 10 who don't have a trials background Edited October 19, 2013 by tony27
zippy
I just want to know how long it took for the trials riders turned Enduro riders to realize that they do not get penalized for putting their feet down......
maggar
Watched David Knight take Jarvo and Jonny Walker apart at Tong in Fast Eddy's Extreme Enduro last January. Knighter was on a bored out trail bike (Honda CRF250X) while Jarvo and Walker were on their factory bikes. When Knighter's on song there's no-one to touch him.
