g4321
Glazing of the bore is a real problem Thats why I was told to run a bike in with mineral or semi synthetic oil then use a better oil - ie semi or fully synthetic. Running in a bike on fully synthetic oil is likely to lead to a glazed bore - thats the info I was given. As for the re-mapping bit wonder if a Dynojet power Commander (that the loud pipe brigade use on their FI road bikes) will soon be available for the Honda - tongue in cheek comment I'm afraid. atomant
That link you gave there RS was an interesting read.. It looks like that PGM-FI system is completely self contained and could be ported to another machine. I'll have to find out what it costs.. arun1664
Roughly speaking a 10 degree C rise in a Si devices junction temperature is a halfing of its life (whatever that may be), which is the bad news. The good news is in 5 years of doing that sort of testing I never actually got a failure at device level .... (I have a real job now) so in terms of worring about heat, I wouldn't, failures are usually caused by material migration, corrosion or vibration. Well anyway, thats my 10 pence worth .... woody
Maybe the Honds oil pump might fit too? Now that is funny - and no, I have nothing against nor dislike the 4T before all you owners jump on me, I just like a bit of dry humour....
