nicbrrghs
The bike would run fine then stop and not run again at all left it would start again then stop. he apparently has tried new stator, cdi and coil. Still sounds a bit stator like to me any ideas? Earths have been doubled to try to write that off as a problem. Could this be a compression problem ie when cold compression is better then gap arises when its hot? Or broken reeds? Any ideas welcome!!! I would like some pointers before i tackle next week. I was tempted to send stator to west country windings to have checked properly. PLEASE ANY IDEAS WELCOME

jfc
Blocked fuel tank breather, the bike gets fuel when left standing but once it runs up no more fuel can leave the fuel tank if the tank is not able to breath
dadof2
The best way to test the stator is on the bike, spin the engine with a drill (spark plug out but rested on barrel). You can see if it sparks and measure the output from stator at same time. As previous poster suggests - check for fuel starvation
shyted
Where in St Anns do you live as i live in Thornton-Cleveleys but at the moment im still at work because of the weather. Mail me . Don't jump to conclusions ,they can be un-necessaryly costly. Start with good fuel. Remove fuel line ,is there fuel comming through to the carb when at the point of cut out won't start. If yes ,remove plug. Is it wet after a bit of kicking over ? If so you know you are getting fuel and therefor eliminated two faults ,Quallityof fuel and it's supply. So on with the ignition. No spark ? Stick a new plug of the correct type being the cheaper option than coil etc.Keep going untill you come across the problem(s)
