bleeper
I bought Pyramid brand fork seals for my 70's Yamaha, they didnt fit the bore of the fork slider...so I went out and did what I should have done, I bought some from a Yamaha dealer, they were good & OK. On my M92 Bultaco I bought Pyramid taper roller brgs for the steering head as In-Motion didnt have any std. OE ball & cone type at the time. So far they are OK. I did try some OE Honda (I think model CL77) double lip fork seals on the M92 because somebody recommended them on the internet (US), they dont fit very well and are not a suitable replacement, so will try to be more careful on taking advice in future...and stick to specialists. pschrauber
Double lip is OK, to the seals, You haven't mentioned the manufactur or the diameters of the seals, especially outer diameter and height. The numbers should match to the standard seals then everything is all right in my personal view. I had some trouble too with parts where I just ask if they fit to the bike brand and model. I learn "t my lessons here, now I ask the dimensions and manufactor of the parts before I order them, worked very well so far ...
bleeper
Yes, I agree PS. Pyramid brand sell stuff mostly on e-bay (I think), my guess is that the seals are made in China.
bondy
thanks guys the seals are 35x47x10 ive matched them up to the old ones they look the same size. my concern was its got opening on both sides with the spring however on 1 side the is also a flat outer edge to tap the seal in the leg. the kit came with the original rubber dust boots cost £16 so not bad for the kit comes with red rubber grease. bullylover
Hi Bondy. I have been using Ariette seals in my Sherpa and other Bultaco`s. They are for a KTM SX 65 2002 to 2009. They are double lipped so you only need one seal in each side and they even come with some grease to lube the inside of the seals before installation. They work very well. There is a few other posts on here about those seals. Those seals of yours look fine too. If they don`t last long it isn`t hard to change them anyway. Graham.
