toetoe
I have had my Sherco for a few months, I had it to see if I would take to trials or not, I didn't want to spend much money on a bike at first and when I saw this for sale I had to have it, the problem now is, very soon I will have about £1.500 to spend on another bike and also the money from the Sherco if I sell it or part x it, I would like to ask peoples opinions on if it would be worth keeping it because it is a bultaco sherco and in the future could be a well sort after classic or just get rid so their is more money in the pot for a more up to date bike, I don't think it will become a classic in my life time but the longer I keep it the safer it is from being broken into parts to get more money back than selling it as a working machine. montesarepsol777
Not sure sherco would be a classic likely a low budget trials bike to get started.
huski
sell it and put the money towards the best condition bike you can afford, could be looking at 2010/11 models with that budget, will be much better to ride than your Sherco, all 250s of that age are good

toetoe
I am more for selling it than keeping it, l will definitely get my money back, I paid £700 for the bike, almost new boots worth £150, helmet worth about £50, gloves about £15 and a bike rack, I think they are about £80 so that means the bike was around £400, I have looked at the ossa and they look really tidy but I think they are fuel injection and I only have a limited amount of bike maintaining knowledge, I like the new Sherco with the fuel tank at the back, l have seen one for sale at £1,900 , I think it is 2010, it's a bit bigger than mine, it's a 290 but it's got the new frame with round bar so it's bang up to date and I will only be riding in club trials, thanks for the replies. obsever no 1 uk
Hi , I would sell it as I doubt it will ever be worth much more, you may get 700 quid for it which will give you 2200 to spend .eg.2011 gas gas 250 could be within reach which will hold good relative value for you ! Stay safe !

Stay safe ! yes I see what you mean, I can go a bit higher, the £1,500 plus what I get for the bike is their but I can go higher up to about another £500 but I would have to put the other £500 back, if I saw a bike that was worth the extra money then I would have it, it looks like everyone is in favour of selling the bike so that what I will do, l thought I would do, l just wanted to here from people with a lot more knowledge on the subject. montesarepsol777
Ossa yes fuel injection which means no carb to clean out,50-1 fuel ratio so less oil to buy and burn-our local dealer said gearbox oil about once a year-have had no problems whatsoever in two years-heard the 2011 model had some teething problems though. Frankly all models a pretty good just what takes your eye. I went for Ossa as technically ahead of the rest in design especially the exhaust design out of the rear of the engine direct to the rear silencer-front exhaust exit is the same as my Dad`s 1960`s Triumph Tiger Cub. Anyway good luck in the search.
lineaway
If your bike has all the original stickers it could be worth keeping. I have had many bikes through the years. I never imagined I would ever ride vintage. Looking back there is three bikes I should have kept. I bought a new ty350 and sold my TL250 with a 300 kit and all the frame mods. I had a clean 1984 350 Montesa and a showroom condition Gagiva 350. All bikes seemed worthless at the time, all of which I wished I had now. ( The Gagiva is still like new, a collector bought it). Besides it is always great to have a spare to bring other riders into the sport.
