lister_st46
I have recently bought a 2008 txt pro 280 and I am new to the sport. I've noticed that there is a 'clutch oil/transmission oil' leak coming from the bottom bolt of the clutch cover. The dealer fitted a new gasket on Monday and returned the bike but this hasn't stopped the leak. I have a couple of questions; 1. Is this a common fault? 2. What torque should these bolts be tightened to? 3. I have noticed that motomerlin supply a 'mk2' clutch gasket (made from gasket material unlike the oem part). Has anyone replaced the gasket with this part? thanks
lineaway
No, they should not leak. Usually just requires a new gasket. Does leak when parked, or only when you ride it? If it leaks only when ridden, check the kick start seal as it is easy to become pushed out.
lister_st46
Thanks, to be honest I haven't yet ridden the bike for longer than 20 mins. I noticed the leak after the bike had been parked in the garage over night. Loos as if the leak is coming through the bottom clutch housing bolt and is collecting of the sump guard. I've checked the kick start and this looks dry. The oil is pink so I'm certain it's not engine oil.

houseape1000
I bought a metal/rubber gasket from splatshop for ~£10.00 from Splatshop that worked a treat. Before this I tried a standard paper gasket and gasket compound which didn't fully seal it. http://www.splatshop.co.uk/gasgas-clutch-cover-gasket.html
