hoodie2
Hi got an 06 rev 3 200. Wanted to freshen it up and thought that the 200's had a lined barrel and that a rebore would be needed. Lampkin's were able to tell me that Beta changed from a liner to a plated cylinder but they were not sure when. Come the weekend I'll have a look to check but in the meantime does anyone know from experience if the bore on the 06 200 is plated or lined? Cheers

naichuff
I have an 03 and do not remember it having a liner although it was replace at some time when the first owner damaged the barrel when it filled with water breaking the base lugs
craig10
I had an early 01 which had an iron liner, Birks told me only those early models had the liners so I'd imagine an 06 would be Nikasil plated. If it needs plated I've heard Langcourt are good.

bishyfishy
Hi Just before Christmas I sent my Sherco cylinder to Langcourts for replating and had it back in 6 days! Very good service - make sure you send either your current piston if not worn or the new piston size i.e. A, B etc with the cylinder. hoodie2
Finally got round to stripping the top end today and discovered that the barrel is plated. The piston is marked 63.97, 05-16 10571 and is maked C. Anyone know if that's the biggest size? Cheers.
dadof2
I am near certain an 06 beta will have a vertex piston and vertex do up to 9 pistons for the same nominal bore although 4 (A to D) is more common. Look at the vertex website / catalog as it gives details of piston to bore clearance, ring end gaps etc and how to measure them.Their site has an email address for more info. hoodie2
It is a vertex piston. Thanks for that I'll have a look at their site.
hoodie2
No Sign of the Beta 200 piston on the Vertex site. emailed to enquire but nothing back yet. What piston does the Evo 200 use now? My Rev 3 has a Vertex size 63.97 C No: 05-16-10571
