Hi there,

The 10th digit down from the top on the frame number denotes the year. Eg, 8 = 2008.

On the later models from 2009 I believe that was when the last of the frames were built so you could have a 2010 - 2013 bike but the frame will still show the no 9.

If the one your looking at is one of these later models and it's road reg'd the V5 should show the year on manufacture / registration. Hope this helps.

To expand on what has been noted above, most manufactures have adopted the 17 digit ISO standard for vehicle identification. In that standard the 10th digit is always the year of manufacture, as follows.

2001 = 1, 2002 = 2, 2003 = 3, 2004 = 4, 2005 = 5, 2006 = 6, 2007 = 7, 2008 = 8, 2009 = 9, 2010 = A, 2011 = B, 2012 = C, 2013 = D, 2014 = E, 2015 = F, etc, etc.
