stevo69
Hi chaps. I bought my daughter a 2012 txt pro 125 gas gas for Christmas. It's a great bike but, it's been running far too rich. Here's what I've done to try and cure this. 1. Dropped the needle one on the clip, one from top, lightly oiled the air filter. It ran ok for a couple of hours, then started running rich again and bogging slightly, the exhaust end was very very oily! 2. Put a 35 pilot in, in place of the 36 pilot, left the clip one from top, 2.5 turns out on the mixture screw. It ran a lot better, but the exhaust was still very oily! 3. I've now put the 36 pilot back in, fitted a 45 slide in place of the 40 slide, mixture screw two turns out. I'm using Motul 5-10 pre mix, 70 ml per 5 litres. I also repacked the silencer last night, it was a right mess!!!! Any suggestions will be much appreciated!
zerorev3rev4
oiling the air filter will make it worse so only lightly oil ,if your daughter is only pottering it might not be getting hot enough to burn fuel fully ,it may have too larger main jet or pilot jet you could screw mixture out only 1 turn there is no set amount you adjust it to make it run right if its not right at half a turn out it needs a smaller pilot jet ideally one and a half turns out if your far off that it needs a different size jet ,and get a smaller main jet
snobbly
just a thought - I had similar issues to start with and it was just because i was pottering all the time to learn, i asked a friend to take the bike for a bit of a blast and it was fine after 20 minutes, a lot of blue clouds out the exhaust to start with though
shercoben12
just get on it and find a nice big hill. go to bottom balancing hang on to the throttle for a few seconds in 3rd dump clutch and FLY! :rotfl:repeat this a few times till it gets nice and hot should smoke loads! its normal just burning of lots of old oil! my old 125 did that when i was pottering so i took it for a nice little thrash and job done! or just give it a couple of blasts across a field . doesent matter what you do just get it hot burn that oil of.
