cabby
Is this an easy enough job to do on an 09 125 ? I have the info in regards how much oil per fork/air gap etc, but is the job itself easy enough for a layman.
finn
Yep it's easy enough, your'll need circlip pliers plus see if you can find a length of tube to slide over the fork just to knock the new seal in place. Be gentle with the seal and fork surface, you don't want any scratches.
cabby
Having some issues. Getting fork seals on not the problem, its how much oil do you replace as it says measure by air gap but how does one do that with cartridge in and if you remove the oil would just pour out the bottom. Also, i assume you need a special tool to remove the right hand cap ??
dadof2
You over fill the fork with oil Then you need syringe with a piece of fine bore pcv tubing on it. Mark the depth of the air gap on the tube, then insert it into the fork until the mark on the tube is level with the top of the fork. Withdraw oil through the tube with the syringe and when it sucks in air the oil is at the correct level. baldilocks
How did you get right fork leg cap off ?
jacaldo
Put it back into the yokes to hold it tight if you have removed the forks
baldilocks
Iknow how to hold the fork but the nut on the right side cap spins inside the cap. It will lock if you keep turning but I wondered I would break something internal ? The cap is drilled around the circumference I wondered if there was a tool to fit into the holes ?
