hab5000
Hi all, I'm in the process of restoring a Cota 200, starting first with splitting the crankcase to replace main bearings. After removal of cylinder head & barrel, I've noticed there's some light scoring on the bore and piston skirts. Anyone know the best place to get a rebore/piston kit done in the UK? Much appreciated! 29markt
Hi Hab5000, Currently undertaking something similar with my 200 Cota, inmotion trials are very helpful, as are Southwest montesa in the US, there are a few French sites also worth looking at. Hope this helps, and good luck with the rebuild!! Cheers,
hab5000
Cheers! I'll have a look. How far on are you with the resto? I managed to get an owners handbook on ebay, let me know if you want a pdf copy of the exploded parts list.
westyfield7
I'm just finishing an MH200 restoration but got away without reboring... but if you are anywhere near Derby I have the contact of a very good specialist in Borrowash where you can wait and watch the process being carried out. In box me for the number. Inmotion don't list a 200 piston but if you call them I'm sure they could point you in the right direction. http://www.inmotiontrials.com/product-category/engine-parts-montesa/ These are the before and after pics of the bike to date..http://www.flickr.com/photos/106795187@N06/sets/72157640687453394/ Edited February 20, 2014 by westyfield7

The piston seems to be in good enough shape but does anyone know the piston ring gap tolerance? Many thanks Ali
