motosolex
What is the purpose of the ball (288-24684-00-00) under the cap on the left side of swing arm as seen on diagrams? Thank you.
feetupfun
Weird hey? Maybe it's a magnet? That cap on my TY250A fell off years ago so I can't check what it does
b40rt
Wasn't a chain oiled, was it ?
feetupfun
Wasn't a chain oiled, was it ?The question is about an odd-looking item on the parts diagram that appears to fit into the cap of the chain oiler
charlyxty
Hi Patrick,I think the ball is part of the cap to give it rigidity. Moreover, the cap model changes the following year and the ball disappears.
laser1
When riding the original prototypes, the test rider insisted the bike needed more balls....
cavalier
Hi - just bought and fitted the ribber plug as part of my TY250A restoration and also noted the small ball in the parts book - couldn't figure out its use so have not bothered to install - I don't think I will be using the chain oil filler system so its not an issue. guys
I think the ball prevents oil from escaping thru the vent hose when the bike falls on it's side...
motosolex
Maybe. Where is the vent hole located?
