declan1999
The carburettor is off my Montesa 314 and it is a Dellorto PHBH is the pipe supposed to be how it is or it is meant to be separate? The bike is running a bit rich but the jets are all standard, could this be why?
mont315
they should be separate or fold pipe in half and cut half way through it so you end up with a oval opening in the pipe which it can draw air through for both sides

thats_a_five
I believe that the two nipples coming from the carb are vents. By connecting them together with a hose, you are closing the vents. This can cause a rich condition. Some people use separate hoses, some use a loop as shown but then there must be a hole somewhere in the hose to allow the vents to work. Usually the hole should point down to avoid dirt and splashed water from entering the hole in the hose and then traveling into the carb. declan1999
I cut the pipe and started it up, when it was cold it didn't seem much different but when it's warm it has much better throttle response, so I tucked them away where water can't get in, thanks.
