Make sure your rims are nipping clean before fitting and make sure you warm them with a hair dryer or if you use a paint stripping gun be careful not to overheat them. jackoo40 Posted March 27, 2014 Report Share Posted March 27, 2014 I put some S3 tapes on my sons Rev 80, but didn't heat them and they look like Nora Batty's tights! apparently there is a youtube video you can watch that shows you how to do it (wish I'd known before I tried). dadof2 Posted March 27, 2014 Report Share Posted March 27, 2014 If you fasten a valve stem in with a couple of nuts and sealing washers on the inside and then smear sikaflex or other neutral cure sealer on the valve and all the spoke nipples you can do away with the rim tape altogether.
