dropdeadfred Posted March 28, 2014 Report Share Posted March 28, 2014 hi all i have just got my hands on a ty175 1980 my first trail bike , i payed £600 for it nowing that it needed some work doing on it, have just had the crank seals replaced and drive shaft oil seal behind the front sprocket , zo after my friend put the engine back up and kicked it for the first time it started great after riding it for 10 to 15 mins it started to jump out of 3rd 4th gear i no this is wrong but dose any one no of any one that can fix this for me any help would be more than helpfull thanks dropdeadfred .... dpyam Posted March 31, 2014 Report Share Posted March 31, 2014 (edited) It could be a worn part or two in the gearbox, but check the basics first. Try putting fresh 10/30 or 10/40 mineral motorbike oil in the gearbox first, and also check the clutch adjustment. It could also be the gearchange mechanism is sticky and not moving the gears fully so try taking off the cover behind the gearlever and check it's all moving freely and is greased up. If it's still doing it then the g'box may need an overhaul. BTW it's a Trials bike, not a trail bike!
