jacksongee
I can't work out where it's coming from! The bike is a 2009 250 2t. The sound occurs roughly once per second and speeds up to roughly twice per second depending on the speed of the bike. It only happens when I am in gear and on the throttle. When I pull the clutch in it stops, when I coast in gear it stops. I've recently changed the gearbox oil and there was a fair amount of metallic particles. The bike is new to me so I don't know how the problem has developed. Any ideas?
dadof2
Is the make of bike / model a secret?

lineaway
It could be a chain or tire. I had a guy put Shrinkos on a Sherco and the tire would rub on the kickstand spring.
copemech
Decide if it is chain speed, wheel speed or other. Put a piece of tape on tire and watch its rotation, Same with the chain, use paint on a link and look down. Likeky a noisy chain that has issues or needs a lube my first guess. Yes, these rotate at different intervals.
zerorev3rev4
been as wheel and chain is still turning when coasting and noise goes it stands not to be one of these ,if there is metal found in gear box oil it sounds like there is a problem in the gear box or clutch side ,therefore strip clutch side out and see what find if nothing then the cases need splitting
