top_beta
Afternoon all, the stator on my 11 evo 125 went at the last trial so I sent it off to get re wound. However after putting it back together it just will not start ! It splutters a bit and backfires but will not run. Any ideas what could be causing this ? Tried a new plug and kill switch but no improvement
lineaway
Have you pulled the plug cap and checked for a good connection. You might cut it back to fresh wire. Double check the grounds.

dadof2
Incorrect ignition timing may give those symptoms. Do you know for certain stator was faulty before it was rewound - how was it checked? Faulty coil can give these symptoms.
top_beta
I've checked the plug gap and its correct and so is the plug type, we tested the resistance across the stator and there was none, did the same test on my dads evo and it read around 290 ohms. How can I test to see if the coil is faulty ?
0007
What is the resistance now? Also measure the resistance as far from the stator as you can so you measure the integrity of the wire harness and harness ground Do two tests, isolate the stator and then test it again through the harness
