orkney_will
Hi all, Been lurking on the forum for a while to learn more about trials. No clubs here in Orkney so I'm planning to just buy a bike and teach myself the basics (with the help of this site and Youtube etc). I have no experience riding or working on any kind of motorbike so I'm as noob as they come Have plenty of land and scrap wood/metal to build my own playground with, I just need the bike lol. I'm keeping an eye on offroadmart.com, ebay and our local buy/sell group on Facebook so hoping to pick up my first bike this month so I can dive in. Cheers all Will
breagh
Hello Will from Fife. Pity there's not much of a scene up there I bet there's plenty interesting places to go. An old trials pal of mine Alan Fender moved to the islands years ago, real decent lad. Don't know if you could get in touch for some tips? Think he's riding the pre 65 this year.. Cheers the noo.
the dabster
Hello Will from Fife. Pity there's not much of a scene up there I bet there's plenty interesting places to go. An old trials pal of mine Alan Fender moved to the islands years ago, real decent lad. Don't know if you could get in touch for some tips? Think he's riding the pre 65 this year.. Cheers the noo. That name is a blast from the past, I remember years ago travelling on my own to a Scottish championship round in an old escort van with a slipping clutch. I was running late and used most of my fuel getting there and was worrying about getting home (no mobiles or credit cards in those days). I didn't know anyone on the scene then but Ian Fender realised that and started to make a point of speaking to me at the trials. Anyway he lent me a fiver to get home that day which got me out of a real pickle! A really fantastic guy. I was working the day he was fatally injured outside Fort William during the SSDT a few years later. He was flown direct to the neuro unit in Glasgow but unfortunately did not survive. A sad event by any measure but even more distracting when I realised who it was. Apologies for hijacking your introduction Will but the name stirred a few memories. Hopefully if you get into trials you will meet people like Ian... Hi by the way!
